I cleaned out the Forest Grove Safeway. I now have enough supplies to not have to leave the house until Monday morning. Woot! Screw you, humanity!

I saw the police giving an interview to a TV news crew this morning on my commute (which takes me down Wren road to Glencoe road) o.O

http://www.nwcn.com/news/oregon/Manhunt-in-Hillsboro-for-armed-felon-arrested-45-times--71758807.html

"HILLSBORO, Ore. -- A morning car chase Monday led to an intense manhunt in Washington County for a wanted felon.

Deputies established a large perimeter for hours in the Hillsboro area around Glencoe and Wren roads, but could not locate Josh David Nicholas.

Nicholas is considered “armed and dangerous” and may be carrying several guns. Investigators added that they believed Nicholas would rather "get into a shootout" than be arrested."

Not to be outdone. I must say, if you're going to get high on Mescaline and drive around with a pair of handguns like Neo from the Matrix, at least 1) get a trenchcoat and 2) don't drive on Baseline road RIGHT PAST THE GIANT POLICE STATION.

http://www.nwcn.com/news/oregon/Mescaline-lab-evidence-found-in-home-of-Hillsboro-gunman-71007027.html

"Police searching the home of a gunman in a car who created bedlam from Hillsoboro (their typo, not mine, eta.) to Cornelius Saturday found evidence of a mescaline lab in his home.

...

As a sheriff's deputy and two Cornelius officers approached the car, Schumacher got out with a gun in each hand and started firing, hitting a patrol car. The officers fired back, killing him. Police would only say for now that Schumacher was hit with more than one round.

He was wearing only a pair of camo-pattern shorts."

I like searching email in Gmail. But I like viewing email in Outlook.

(-) In Gmail, you see one line per thread, often with replies merged together, which makes it confusing who wrote what when. I prefer one line per email, with additional thread information grouping the emails, and sortable choose-able header fields (i.e. Outlook style).

(-) In Outlook, you have to select a folder, go to a menu, go to a sub-menu, click browse, check sub-folders, come back up, enter search terms, then search. In Gmail, you just search.

I just heard someone in the hallway refer to something as a "constellation" prize. Like the guy in college who referred to a comparator (com-PAIR-a-tor) as a comparator (COMP-a-ray-tor), I hope he was just being silly. I hope.

Last night I had a really crazy, stressful dream. It reminded me of a David Lynch movie. It doesn't sound very stressful, but there was this underlying sense of foreboding about the whole thing.

I was at blueberryjoe's house to attend a big party. Except he didn't have his normal house, he had a giant mansion!

There were a lot of people there. One guy was broadcasting a radio show from a wireless microphone, kind of like Ruby Rod's microphone in The 5th Element. He kept telling me not to swear, because we were live on the air.

I was lying on this couch, and these punk high school kids with attitude were giving me a hard time for taking up the whole couch, because it was the largest couch in the room. I am pretty sure I told them to fuck off. I don't even know what they were doing there. I was all "do you even know JRG?" I was really tired.

There was this big swimming pool orgy room, where a couple of naked girls were hanging out while guys got off on them. I wasn't sure if the pool filters could handle that.

After seeing the orgy room, I found my jacket and left the party, and went to a boat supply store with some dude from work, so we could get some kind of sonar device for our boat mission. I'm not sure what we were doing, we might have been hunting sharks. I don't remember why I had a boat. It seemed very important at the time.

I have discovered my issue with Dragon Age: I did not install patch 1.01b. Doh! Normal mode seems normal now.

Played some more Dragon Age last night. Also read some message board forums. There seem to be two camps of people:

1) 'Easy' difficulty is okay, but 'Normal' is what I expect 'Hard' to be. I've played RPGs forever. WTF?

2) I am doing okay on 'Hard' or higher difficulty. L2Play RPGs, newbs.

Right now I am falling into the (1) category. I am playing on 'Normal', and I already restarted the game so I could change my character from an entropy mage to a mage with more healing and buffing spells.

But now I read on the message boards that you can't do normal at all unless you have specific crowd control spells like 'cone of cold' or whatever. Or, you have to get the shield spell, cast it on your tank, then get the fireball spell, and AOE all the mobs, which I guess is a tactic the hardcore gamers think is 'overpowered', or something.

I want to play on 'Normal' difficulty, but I don't want to re-roll and start the game over every time I screw up a skill or spell or ability point allocation (there is a LOT of voice acting, even if you skip most of it with the ESC key).

Maybe I should just give up and play on 'Easy', so I can have a character with the spells I think sound interesting, rather than the ones that would let me survive on 'Normal'. I don't know.

Sometimes I'm reading a post and I hit the wrong 'friends' link and it takes me to the friends list of someone else or some comm, and I start reading it and I eventually read some fucked up shit and I finally look at the icon and I say "who the fuck is this?" and only then I realize I'm on the wrong page.

Yeah. It's like that.

I took Haku outside today, and he lifted his leg.

Today, Haku became a manly man.

When I was a little kid I read "Are you there God? it's me Margaret." I remember this section where Margaret is talking to someone about someone else (omg gossip) and the person says "she goes with boys behind the A&P."

Being from Wisconsin, I didn't know what an 'A&P' was. I thought it was some kind of sex act reference.

I am disturbed by user icons that are smaller than the maximum size allowed. Especially if they have non-square aspect ratios.
